Dr Hameed completed his medical training in Bangalore University in India in 2000. He came to the UK in 2004 and completed his GP training in Scotland and with the Cleveland GP Scheme. He was accredited in 2010. Dr Hameed joined our Practice in February 2011 and works full time. Dr Hameed is our Senior Partner following Dr Acquilla's retirement in March 2013. Dr Hameed's special interest is in minor surgery and joint injections. Dr Hameed is also a member of the Local Medical Committee (LMC).

DR KHWAJA MOIENUDDIN

Dr Khwaja joined our team in August 2017 after qualifying his GP training from Scotland and works at the Surgery full time. Dr Khwaja was approved as GP Trainer in 2020 and mentors our GP Registrar and medical students.

DR MEHVISH RIAZ

Dr Riaz joined our practice team in 2015. She was born and brought up in Middlesbrough and trained locally through the Durham Tees Valley Training Scheme. Dr Riaz has completed many charitable trips for reconstructive surgery camps for over 14 years. She has a special clinical interest in women's health and also mentors our medical students. Dr Riaz has a great passion for cricket!

Dr Kabir joined the Practice in May 2021 as long-term Locum GP. Dr Kabir works part-time and knows our area and available services well.

Dr Ho joined our team in November 2022 and works 4 days per week.

DR JOHN GELDART

Dr Geldart joined the team in October 2022 , he is a very experienced GP and knows the area and patients well. Dr Geldart is a recently retired partner with 31 years experience at Nunthorpe Surgery, he now works 3 days a week at the practice. Dr Geldart's special interest include Minor Surgery and Joint Injections.

Dr Nahar is a female GP who works 1-2 sessions per week.

DR ANDREW PARKER

Male

Dr Parker graduated from Newcastle University in 2002. He worked in General Medicine and Radiology prior to qualifying as a GP in 2012. He has worked in various practices in the local area since then and was born and raised in Middlesbrough. He has a special interest in mens health and can perform joint injections. He joined the practice as a full time salaried GP (4 days per week) in September 2023.

Dr Kiran works for the practice sites as and when needed as a part-time Locum GP. Dr Kiran qualified as a GP in August 2021.

DR RUBI VIJAYAKUMAR

Rubi Vijayakumar MBBS MRCGP Diploma in practical Dermatology Dr Vijayakumar joined the team as Locum GP, working part-time from December 2023. She completed her GP training in 2007 at Cleveland VTS. Dr Vijayakumar has been a GP at Teesside for 17 years and has a special interest in Dermatology and GP education. Dr Vijayakumar is the Lead for the Durham Tees Valley GP Training Programme.

Dr Tahir is a Locum GP. He works regularly to cover sessions when needed at the practice.

DR DIVYA DIVAKARAN NAIR

Dr Divya joined our team in November 2023. She completed her MBBS from India and received her MRCGP qualification in August 2023 and was trained under the Durham and Tees Valley Scheme. Dr Divya works 5 sessions per week.

DR ALISON STURDY

Dr Sturdy (former name Dr Grainger) joined our team in 2023 working here part-time 2 mornings a week. She is a locally trained GP who is passionate about promoting positive lifestyles. She has considerable experience in helping patients with drug and alcohol problems and also teaching medical students.

Nicola, Paramedic joined our team in March 2024. She is very experienced in trauma and minor ailments. Nicola works full time.

ELIZABETH WILSON

Elizabeth (known as Lizzie) joined our Team in April 2017 as a Practice Nurse and her skills include wound care, phlebotomy, smear tests, smoking cessation, spirometry, diabetes management, health checks, BP & ECG. Lizzie previously worked as a District Nurse. In 2019 Lizzie successfully completed clinical skills training as well as obtaining prescribing degree and is now working as a Nurse Practitioner including seeing patients with minor ailments in addition to her other skills.

Jagjit works part-time as a Practice Pharmacist, she has worked in Community Pharmacy previously to joining our Practice in April 2022.

Nabeela works part time in the surgery as a Practice Pharmacist, she joined the team in February 2023. Nabeela has got over 21 years experience working in Community Pharmacies and still works in the community alongside the surgery.

Wendy works full time as a Pharmacy Technician, she joined our team in December 2022 with 21 years previous Community Pharmacy experience.

KIRSTEEN H

Kirsteen is a full time Pharmacy Technician. With 12.5 years' experience working in the pharmacy team for Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust, followed by 2 years working NECS supporting GP practices in the Tees Valley area.

LAUREN POTTER

Lauren joined our Practice team in December 2019 as Practice Nurse. Lauren previously worked at ITU and James Cook University Hospital. Lauren's skills include wound care, phlebotomy, immunisations and general treatment room duties.

NATALIE GUNNS

Natalie joined our team as Practice Nurse in December 2021. Natalie has lots of experience working previously at A&E in James Cook University Hospital, followed by District Nurse then as a Practice Nurse. Natalie has completed her Clinical Skills training and is enrolled on Non-Medical Prescribing training. Natalie is qualified in all areas of practice nursing including Asthma and COPD, wound care, ear syringe and cervical smear taking.

Lisa joined our Team in October 2016. Lisa is an experienced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Prescriber and her background is as a Specialist Respiratory Nurse. MICHELLE BEAUMONT

Michelle joined the Team in April 2017 as a Practice Nurse. She previously worked as a District Nurse. Michelle is a respiratory nurse and specialises in COPD and asthma management, wound care, phlebotomy, vaccinations, cervical smears, health checks, BP, ECG, smoking cessation, spirometry. in 2019 Michelle qualified as Nurse Practitioner successfully completing clinical skills and prescribing qualifications and now consults patients with minor ailments.

KAREN NAYLOR

Karen is a qualified General and Mental Health Nurse and has worked in healthcare for 40 years. She joined our team in October 2023. Karen has worked most recently as a Community Matron, but previously as a Nurse Practitioner in mental health services, she was a Heart Failure Nurse for 5 years. Karen has been a non-medical prescriber for many years and also has years of experience in cardiology and community nursing. Karen is passionate in supporting patients to be cared for in their preferred place of care and firmly believes in patient choice being at the centre of all decisions.

Delia joined our practice team in April 2009. Delia is an experienced Practice Nurse and her duties include phlebotomy, dressings, suture removal, smear tests, travel vaccinations, baby immunisations, health checks and diabetes management. Delia has also undertaken Clinical Skills course.

Rose joined our team in September 2019. Rose previously worked in Intensive Care at James Cook University Hospital. She is a very experienced Practice Nurse and currently undergoing Respiratory disease diploma to further enhance her clinical skills and knowledge.

Joanna joined our team as Practice Nurse in April 2022. Joanna qualified as a Nurse in January 2022 and is enjoying working in General Practice and developing her clinical skills and experience.

Diane joined the team in August 2022 as a Practice Nurse. Diane has had 6 years previous experience working as a District Nurse and has also worked in Oncology, Elderly Care & A&E in James Cook University Hospital. Diane’s skills include wound care, phlebotomy & immunisations/injections and she is looking forward to gaining new skills and experience as a Practice Nurse.

Michelle has a degree in COPD, Asthma and Diabetes Management, she also has experience working in Respiratory Care at North Tees University Hospital. Michelle's skills include Wound Care, Phlebotomy, Cervical Screening, Spirometry and Immunisations.

STEPHANIE GOODCHILD

Stephanie was born in Middlesbrough, she qualified as a Nurse in 1990 and after a short spell in theatre moved to London and gained experience in both the NHS and the Private sector. Stephanie passed the Orthopaedic course in 1994 and worked in Orthopaedics until 2001, then went into the Hospital private medical sector caring for patients in all aspects of surgery. From this she moved to a Private GP surgery where she learnt to take bloods and became knowledgeable in travel medicine. Stephanie then worked for 9 years in her local GP Surgery in Hertfordshire where she qualified in the care of asthma patients at the University of Hertfordshire and completed a course in spirometry gaining a place on the ARTP register before moving back to Teesside. Stephanie joined our team in August 2023, she enjoys immunisation of both adults and children, is proficient in smears, wound care, compression dressings, BP taking, ECG, health checks and general nursing duties. Personally, she has been happily married for over 30 years and has three grown up daughters.

JANET DALTON

Janet is joining the practice as nurse in February 2024. Janet is a newly qualified nurse and has had a varied career in other sectors including the emergency services, coaching and guidance, pet care and hospitality.

KERRY CARLIN

Kerry joined the team in February 2023 and is an experienced Nurse, previously working as a Community Nurse. Kerry works full-time and is trained in phlebotomy, BP, ECG, wound care, immunisations.

DEBRA MCINTYRE

Debra joined Albert House Clinic in 2008 and joined South Grange Medical Centre in January 2017 following the merge of both practices. Debra works full time as a Health Care Assistant. Debra’s role includes blood taking, BP, ECG, new patient medicals, smoking cessation and spirometry. Debra has NVQ 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care and she is also qualified to administer flu, pneumococcal, shingles and B12 vaccines.

TRACY WAKELIN

Tracy has worked at South Grange since early 2017 following the closure of Eston Grange walk in centre. She is a very experienced member of the admin team and since joining our surgery has qualified in Phlebotomy and in 2019 qualified as a Healthcare Assistant. Tracy is competent in blood taking, blood pressures, health checks, ECG and many immunisations.

GOHAR BEGUM

Gohar is a non-medical Partner with the Practice since 2018. She assists with workflow management to ease pressure and better utilise GP appointments. Also at times of high demand, she is a trained Phlebotomist and can provide additional appointments when required including Covid-19 vaccinations.

JANET KRUGER

Janet joined our practice as an additional member of the Reception team in March 2020. Janet has worked as a Clerical Officer/Receptionist for the NHS for 17 years working within Neurosciences and Audiology at James Cook University Hospital. Janet qualified in Phlebotomy in June 2021 and is enjoying taking up a clinical role with blood taking, blood pressures and ECGs. Janet now has a dual role supporting the clinical team as well as assisting with administration duties as required.

Karen joined the practice team in 1998. Karen is responsible for the management of staff, administration of practice finance, practice organisation, health and safety, management of premises, non-clinical patient welfare and complaints liaison manager.

Tricia joined our team over 36 years ago! She is responsible for all non-clinical staff. Tricia is a very experienced Receptionist and Prescribing Clerk, who knows our local area and patients well.

Leanne is our Practice Administrator. Leanne joined the team many years ago and is very experienced with general practice. She is responsible for appointing our Minor Surgery, Implant and Coil Clinics, as well Childhood Immunisations and insurance/solicitor reports, along with general secretarial support to Hannah and Catherine and supports the Practice Manager with administration tasks.

Pam – Practice Administrator

Pam joined Albert House Clinic in 2005. Pam split her time working both as a healthcare assistant and a practice administration manager while working at Albert House Clinic. Pam is qualified to NVQ 3 in Health & Social care. Pam is competent in all aspects of the Health care assistant role and is also qualified to administer flu, pneumococcal, shingles and B12 vaccines. At South Grange Medical Centre Pam has taken on an administration role but still attends regular updates and keeps her skills updated by occasionally covering the health care role when the need arises.
